The Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in our kitchen facility.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation tasks following SQF standards and company policies.
  • Follow SOPs for cleaning to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Clean and sanitize food preparation surfaces, equipment, and utensils.
  • Disassemble and clean machinery, ensuring thorough removal of food residue.
  • Properly handle waste and garbage, adhering to waste management procedures.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies inventory and notify supervisor of replenishment needs.
  • Conduct inspections, report maintenance needs, and document cleaning activities.
  • Adhere to personal hygiene practices and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Safely operate equipment and report safety concerns to management.
  • Maintain daily schedule and communicate any workflow challenges.
  • Attend safety and production meetings and apply feedback effectively.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and attendance policy.
  • Maintain professional communication with team members and perform assigned duties.
  • May rotate to different departments and perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in cleaning and sanitation, preferably in a food production or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and food safety regulations.
  • Familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cleaning and sanitation.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform thorough cleaning tasks.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks such as heavy lifting, standing for long periods, and repetitive hand-intensive tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment.
  • Adherence to personal hygiene practices and safety protocols.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends as needed.

Physical Demands

Extensive physical exertions includes but are not limited to: 

  • Standing for extended periods
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs as needed
  • Repetitive bending, lifting, and hand/arm movements

Measured Metrics and Review Schedule  

Your first review will be 90 days after your start date, then a six-month check-in and a development review annually in January for the duration of your employment. If the results of a review are unsatisfactory, more frequent reviews may be scheduled to monitor improvements. If assigned improvement goals are not reached, a warning schedule may be implemented including the possibility of termination. During each review, your performance and ability to achieve the following metrics will be evaluated.
