Under the guidance of the General Manager, the Sign Operations Manager performs a wide range of duties related to the physical production and installation of signs including sign fabrication, daily production scheduling, sign and vehicle graphics installation,  inventory management, routine equipment maintenance and quality assurance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Prioritize workflow; communicate to production staff daily from the Workstart meeting; supervise the production process to meet customer deadlines.
  2. Review and monitor Orders & Installations in CoreBridge to manage the production schedule daily to meet delivery deadlines and maximize the production capacity of the department.
  3. Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-construction.
  4. Communicate with production staff, other employees and customers in a calm and professional manner; handle production related employee issues.
  5. Manage the inventory purchasing and storage process.
  6. Multi-task—work on different projects simultaneously.
  7. Supervise basic and perform more advanced installations.
  8. Assure the production area is kept neat, clean and organized.
  9. Assess and maintain current technology; work with General Manager/ Owner to investigate and potentially introduce new technology and equipment to staff. Train employees on equipment, tools and efficiency-building methods.  Monitor efficient operation of digital printers and cutting production equipment to maintain them in good working order
  10. Serve as adjunct signmaker and graphics technician for production.
  11. Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed.
  12. Communicate with sales staff regarding project & product timing, extra charges, and changes allowing Sales staff to keep customer advised of sign completion or adjusted schedules.
  13. Maintain and improve morale; help keep the environment upbeat and productive.
  14. Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.

Constantly be looking for sales opportunities in our market for the center. Advise and consult with sales staff on technical production and installation issues as needed to support accurate and quality production of graphics. Support the General Manager as directed and provide backup leadership in their absence.

 

 

Required Skills and Experience

  1. 3-5 years of progressive sign making, vehicle graphics and installation experience.
  2. Experience monitoring and maintaining printing and production equipment.
  3. Experience in vehicle wraps & graphics.
  4. Production team leadership experience.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  2. Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
  3. Work at heights up to 55’.
  4. Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate.
  5. Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high quality work.
  6. Ability to use light equipment.

 

LEVEL OF AUTHORITY

  1. Some supervisory requirements.
  2. Reports directly to General Manager or Owner.
