JOB SUMMARY |
Perform all electrical and preventive maintenance and monitor equipment operations in the facility under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and Crew Team Leader. Perform other tasks as required. |
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
Troubleshoot and repair breakdowns on the electrical aspects of equipment and machinery assigned Modify electrical circuits when needed Use PLC for troubleshooting Assist electronic technicians with repairs of equipment as needed Work with Engineering to maintain and update electrical blueprints Calibrate and/or adjust electronic and pneumatic control equipment Work with electrical engineer or others to test possible modifications to equipment Follow department and company safety guidelines Attend department safety and quality meetings Follow lockout / tagout procedures as required Maintain a clean work environment Perform preventive maintenance as required Assist outside contractors in performing an infrared scan on the electrical distribution system Participate in Lean initiatives |

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES |
Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the department and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards. Knowledge of mechanical and electrical operations of the machinery of the facility. Knowledge of electricity and electrical systems sufficient to build panels, estimate load requirements, wire sizes, etc. Knowledge of hazardous materials and safe handling procedures. Ability to troubleshoot in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic technology. Ability to program and work with the PLC system. Ability to perform multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Ability to work with and run conduit. |
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS |
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent. |
EXPERIENCE: Two years of industrial electrical experience, including PLC troubleshooting and three-phase motor control required |
WORKING CONDITIONS |
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy work. Tasks involve pushing/pulling, lifting, and handling material up to 100 pounds plus standing and walking during a minimum twelve-hour shift. |
ENVIRONMENT: Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature extremes, loud noises and bright lights. Examples: mail clerks, material handlers and food service workers |
