Grading Foreman

Heavy highway construction company in Hendersonville, NC seeking an experienced grading foreman. The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years of DOT roadway construction experience. We currently work in Western North Carolina, within driving distance of Asheville/Hendersonville so home most every night.

Responsibilities Include:

• Strong knowledge of roadway work
• Ensure a safe jobsite
• Daily project supervision – manpower, safety, equipment
• Ensure work is completed per plan
• Jobsite Scheduling – materials, subcontractors, equipment, utilities, etc
• Work closely with superintendent and project manager
• 2 week look ahead for labor, equipment, materials, subs
• Keep track of resource allocation – labor, equipment, subs
• Erosion control maintenance
• Keep detailed daily records
• Make Superintendent and Project Manager aware of any issues that may affect budget and schedule
• Manage subs and crew efficiently

Qualifications:

• 5+ Years of DOT roadway construction experience (preferred)
• Valid Drivers License
• OHSA 30 HR Training, trench safety and traffic control certification – Can be obtained after employment
• Working knowledge of earthwork, storm drain, fine grading, erosion control, traffic control, etc.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment
