Overview

The Development & Marketing Coordinator supports AMOS’s fundraising, marketing, and communications efforts with a focus on execution, consistency, and relationship-building.

This role is responsible for implementing communication campaigns, maintaining donor engagement, and supporting fundraising efforts across multiple channels. While the position includes creative work, it is primarily focused on bringing ideas to life and ensuring consistent outreach that leads to engagement and support.

The Coordinator should be comfortable interacting with donors, members, and community partners—both in writing and in person—including confidently inviting support through donations, sponsorships, and memberships.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment, Donor Engagement & Sales Mindset

  • Support donor and sponsor engagement efforts through outreach, follow-up, and relationship tracking.
  • Clearly and confidently communicate AMOS’s mission and impact to donors, members, and partners, including making direct asks for support (donations, sponsorships, memberships).
  • Build and maintain relationships through events, networking, and ongoing communication.
  • Support capital campaign and annual fundraising efforts through donor tracking, follow-up, and stewardship.

Donor Systems & Operations

  • Maintain donor database: gift entry, acknowledgments, reporting, and segmentation.
  • Track donor interactions and ensure timely, accurate communication and follow-up.
  • Support ongoing donor communications including renewals, appeals, and updates.

Grants & Budget Support

  • Assist in grant research, writing, and reporting.
  • Track deadlines and maintain organized documentation for grants and sponsorships.
  • Support budget tracking for grants, sponsorships, and events.

Marketing & Communications (Execution-Focused)

  • Implement communication campaigns across email, social media, website, and print.
  • Create and schedule content using established messaging, brand guidelines, and campaign plans.
  • Develop communication materials such as newsletters, e-blasts, flyers, and donor updates.
  • Capture and organize photos, videos, and stories to support outreach efforts.
  • Track basic engagement metrics and support reporting on campaign performance.

Events & Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Support planning and execution of fundraising events and donor experiences.
  • Assist with sponsorship coordination and event logistics.
  • Represent AMOS at events, engaging comfortably with guests, partners, and potential donors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather content, stories, and program updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit studies, hospitality, business administrative related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, sales, or client-facing roles.
  • Comfortable with networking, relationship-building, and making direct asks for support.
  • Experience with tracking and POS systems to support donor relations management, fundraising and supporting grant writing and reporting.
  • Familiarity with budget tracking and event coordination.
  • Strong writing and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience with Canva, Mailchimp, WordPress, and social media platforms preferred.
  • Reliable, collaborative, and able to follow through on tasks and timelines.
  • Interest in science education and community engagement.
