Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 8:30-5:00 pm with the flexibility to work other days/hours occasionally as needed.


JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Donations Manager, the Donations Assistant Manager will provide support in Trucking, Deconstruction, and Procurement.  This position will work closely with the Donations Manager to ensure that the ReStores are fully stocked with saleable items, with an emphasis on ensuring day to day operations run smoothly.

Committed to the mission of AAHH, the incumbent will have managerial, administrative, and communication skills, as well as the ability to adapt to constantly changing daily requirements.  Computer literacy, attention to detail, and the ability to remain focused and organized are required for the Donations Assistant Manager to successfully support the Dept. Manager.

To be successful in this role, the applicant must be highly organized and able to coordinate multiple moving parts simultaneously, including truck schedules, staff and volunteer coverage, donor pickups, and inventory flow between ReStore locations. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively support, coach, and communicate with employees, volunteers, donors, and community members while maintaining a positive customer service mindset. Additionally, the applicant must be adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of making sound operational decisions in a fast-paced environment where priorities and daily schedules can change quickly.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Assist in day-to-day management of truck teams.  This will include safety protocols, vehicle maintenance schedules, time management of truck teams, and donor satisfaction.
  2. Assist in managing the truck donation scheduling process for maximum efficiency and donor satisfaction.
  3. Assist in working with volunteer coordinators to ensure Deconstruction projects are adequately staffed.
  4. Assist the Dept. Manager with procuring donations to stock both ReStores.
  5. Work with ReStore management to divert donations to the appropriate stores depending upon need, sales goals, and space.
  6. Assist in processing truck team expenses; to include processing receipts and fleet maintenance costs.
  7. Manage team schedules and vacations to ensure trucks remain on the road.
  8. Assist Dept. Manager with staff performance reviews and record keeping.
  9. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work with staff, clients, and volunteers of varying temperaments towards the achievement of departmental and organizational goals.
  • Strong team approach.
  • Current NC Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • First Aid, CPR, AED certification is recommended.
  • Forklift certification is recommended.
  • Commitment to and passion for the mission of AAHH.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job operates in an environment that is split between office/desk time and direct physical support of the Trucking and Deconstruction teams. 
Must be able to:
*Lift up to 50 pounds.
*Stand or walk on concrete flooring for prolonged time periods.
*Bend, lift, grasp, reach, push, and pull materials.
*Walk and climb on uneven surfaces, ladders, and stairs.
*Occasionally adjust work schedule depending on department needs.
